Choice Ghana is a Ghanaian Non-Governmental Organization founded in 2005 but registered in 2007. Prior to its registration in 2007, the organization existed informally and operated with smaller groups in the East Gonja Municipality. Choice Ghana coordinated and supported community based organizations especially women groups to access capacity and source funding to undertake local level advocacy in the areas of Sanitation, Human rights (engagement with the district assembly on the rights of the brilliant but needy to attain quality tertiary education), HIV/AIDS (awareness creation) women and youth participation in local governance.
Choice Ghana places the vulnerable and marginalized as well as the policy maker at the Centre of development and focuses on empowering the vulnerable to demand accountability and have access to development through active participation in development decision making. Choice Ghana is bounded by the believe that everyone deserves the minimum quality of life that has been defined as freedom from fear, freedom from want and freedom to take action on one’s own behalf.
